Activity Introduction

120 principals and teachers from secondary, primary schools and kindergarten in Hong Kong travelled to Beijing during Christmas holiday to participate in Tsinghua University National Education Program for Teachers in Hong Kong (Session III).

Teacher-participants were taught by well-established scholars of Tsinghua University on issues concerning our motherland’s politics, economics, education, diplomacy, ethnic renaissance and One Country, Two Systems. Furthermore, teacher-participants visited the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPCSC), the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office and the Military Force 6th Division. They also attended a symposium with the China Democracy Party, visited the Museum of the War of People's Resistance Against Japanese and historical sites such as the Lugou Bridge. As teachers gained a more comprehensive understanding of the motherland and developed a stronger sense of belongings, they would be able to transmit their knowledge in national affairs to their students, and nurture a sense of national identity in them.
