Afternoon Tea for our Innovation Ambassador with Chief Executive Donald Y.K. Tsang
It‘s well-known that Chief Executive Donald Tsang likes to be with the youth.
Before the spring festival, Chan Yik Hei, Chan Ka Kin, Lau Tak Shing and Lau Tak Kin, four “star child” of our science innovation centre, as well as Chu Hoi Ming, were invited to have afternoon tea with Donald Tsang in the government house.
Donald Tsang talked about study, scientific research and self-development with the five young boys when having high tea. Donald Tsang was interested in the boys’ inventions and researches and appreciated their hard working in the way from “innovation” to “invention”. Chan Ka Kin, as fresh graduate from School of Pharmacy, CUHK, asked Donald Tsang about the government’s measures on employment.
Based on past experience, Chan Yik Hei told Tsang that students with passion for science would find it hard to dedicate themselves to scientific research. Lau Tak Shing, Lau Tak Kin and Chu Hoi Ming were facing with the pressures from HKCEE and HHALE. They hoped that outstanding students in science could enter universities without taking examinations and concentrate themselves on research.
Donald Tsang listened to the boys’ suggestions patiently, and encouraged them to keep punching, work hard for the future of Hong Kong.
