New Generation Civic Ambassadors Training and Promotion Program 2009

Live an active life, contribute to my motherland

This program aims at fostering youth with “Vision, innovation, erudition and responsibility”. We hope that the students of new generation have wide fields of vision, innovative thought, comprehensive knowledge, be responsible for the family, society and the country, become the pillar of the society in the future, contribute to motherland.
Through this program, we encourage Hong Kong youth to establish positive outlook on life and values, care about current social events, develop independent thinking ability and sense of social responsibility, establish national identity, base in Hong Kong, keep motherland in mind and the whole world in view, pay back to the society.

Characteristics

  1. Develop multi-dimensional thinking and leadership ability
  2. Enhance understanding of national situations, advance national consciousness
  3. Become new citizens that understand Hong Kong and have global view
  4. Make a group of friends that care about current social events, be willing to server the society, contribute to motherland

Content:

1. Civic ambassador Training Camp (Three days and two nights)

2. Interactive lecture: China’s Political Framework and Its Operation

Speaker: Mr. Yiu Tze Yat, director of research, Hong Kong Research Association

3. Interactive lecture: Relationship between motherland and Hong Kong Under the “one country, two system” policy

Speaker: Mr. Yiu Tze Yat, director of research, Hong Kong Research Association

4. Visit Basic Law Library and Basic Law quiz

5. Visit Legislative Council Building and simulate legislation debate

Guest host: Tsang Yok-sing, GBS, JP, President, Legislative Council

6. Sharing Session and Award Presentation Ceremony

Officiating guest: Jasper Tsang Yok Sing, GBS, JP, Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education 

7. Display Boards roving exhibition, sharing session in campus
